Establishment of the specialty of Pediatric Nephrology (also involved in starting “Adult Nephrology”: Founder member of Indian Society of Nephrology and its President in 1990). Promotion of Pediatric Nephrology in Asia and other developing countries (Founder member of Asian Pediatric Nephrology Association). Support to International Pediatric Nephrology Association (IPNA) during its initial stages.
Award of Honorary Membership by the IPNA in 2004, their highest recognition. There are just 18 Honorary IPNA members globally: 2 from Australia, 1 from Japan and the rest from Europe and USA.
