Working as a General Surgery at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi. He graduated
in science from the Aligarh Muslim University in 1970, and then went on to do
MBBS from the Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Memorial Medical College in Kanpur,
which was followed by MD from the Kanpur University in 1979. He joined the
LalaLajpatRai Hospital, Kanpur as a resident physician and was later promoted
as a senior registrar and tutor. He joined the GB Pant Hospital in 1980 as a
medical officer and he later moved to the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in 1981 as
a member of the faculty. He is the only clinician in India to be formally
trained in Geriatrics. He has been instrumental in launching Geriatric Medicine
in India through the faculty of Geriatric medicine, Ann Arbor, University of
Michigan, USA.Dr. Wali has been awarded the prestigious fellowship of American
College of Cardiology (USA) in 2005 in appreciation of his work in preventive
Cardiology. The World Health Organization has also awarded him a fellowship in
Geriatrics through the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. </span><o:p></o:p></p>
