Dr. Sumit Ray is a Chairperson of the department of Medicine Services at <a href="https://www.artemishospitals.com/" target="_blank">Artemis hospital,</a> Gurugram. He has also worked as a consultant at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital (SGRH), Delhi. He is a teacher and examiner for Diplomate National Board (DNB) in Critical Care Medicine, Indian Diploma in Critical Care Medicine (IDCCM), and Indian Fellowship in Critical Care Medicine (IFCCM) for many years. He has been Chief Examiner multiple times for these exams. At present, he is the Controller of Exams for IDCCM and IFCCM. He has more than 40 publications in International and National peer-reviewed journals and chapters in textbooks. He has been the Editor of Current Medicine: Research and Practice. He is a reviewer for multiple international and national journals in Critical Care.
He has been awarded Chikitsa Ratna by IMA (Delhi) in 2013 for exceptional clinical and humanitarian contribution to Critical Care Medicine.
