- <p>Dr. Umesh Kumar Sharma is an alumnus of the prestigious Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune. He has served Indian Armed Forces for nearly 39 years. After his superannuation from service at the highest rank of Lieutenant General, he has now joined Paras Hospitals as Director of Nephrology & Renal Transplantation. He brings with him an experience of more than 1000 renal transplants, including numerous cadaver organ transplants. He is passionate about promoting the Cadaver Donation of organs for transplantation. He strongly believes that “After Death, let us not take our organs to haven because heaven knows we need them here”. He has been devoted to raising public awareness about organ donation after death. He professes that successful transplantation is the only definitive treatment of End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) and has the potential to totally rehabilitate the patient into a productive life in society. He wishes to continue his efforts at cadaver organ donation/transplantation at <a href="https://www.parashospitals.com/" target="_blank">Paras Hospitals.</a> Gurugram, Haryana. </p>
