He is trained in Pediatric Anesthesia at the Kalawati Saran Children’s Hospital, New Delhi and subsequently in Cardiothoracic Anesthesia at GB Pant Hospital and All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. He worked as a Senior Registrar in Cardiothoracic Anesthesia at the University Hospital, Uppsala, Sweden for a period of two years and joined the Escorts Heart Institute as an Associate Director(Anesthesiology) in 2007. He's Principal Investigator of the Indian arm of The McSPI Study Group based in San Francisco.
